''The Silence in Black and White'' is the debut album by American rock band Hawthorne Heights, released in 2004 through Victory Records. On Monday, June 27, 2005 the 2 disc special edition CD/DVD was released. The CD contains demos and acoustic versions of most of the songs, a DVD containing live performances, documentary footage, and many other bonus features. It was produced by Sean O'Keefe.
According to Eron Bucciarelli, the song "The Transition" was the first song Hawthorne Heights wrote as a new band after their old band, A Day in the Life, broke up. The album takes its title from a line in the song "Niki FM". ''The Silence in Black and White'' has sold 816,483 in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Guitarist Micah Carli's sister, Graci Carli, provides backing vocals as a guest for three tracks on the album. - Wikipedia
