After nearly two full decades on the air and the cultivation of a maniacal following, there was no way this was going to satisfy everybody. Worse, at PG-13, there was no obscenity incentive, the way there was for South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. Yet, the first Simpsons feature film justified its astronomical marketing budget, and best of all, it was really funny. The government drops a dome on Springfield after a Homer-caused environmental disaster. Brilliance ensues.
