Tom Lieberman began his neo-vaudevillian odyssey as a 1970's Minneapolis teenager playing in the coffeehouses of the Mississippi River's fabled West Bank. He was a founding member of the seminal vocal jazz trio Rio Nido, and a regular performer, writer and producer on Garrison Keillor's venerable public radio program, 'A Prairie Home Companion,' from 1976 to 1986. In the ensuing years Tom has applied his creative & production services to a wide range of radio, television, stage & screen presentations. Selected credits include: -Executive Producer and Music Supervisor on the the independent feature film 'Sweet Land,' recipient of a 2006 Independent Spirit Award and named to 'Top Ten' lists by publications including The Los Angeles Times, The Village Voice, and Entertainment Weekly. -Story Editor for The Uptown Music Theatre, a New Orleans-based theater company offering original musical theater for children under the artistic direction of trombonist and producer Delfeayo Marsalis. -Creative Director for VEE Corporation, producers of international touring productions for such brands as Disney, Sesame Street & The NBA. -Writer of songs, scripts and prose for such beloved children's brands as Bear in the Big Blue House, Arthur, Winnie the Pooh, and many others. 'Common Denominator' is the first collection of Lieberman's original compositions, ranging from the ridiculous ('Tee Many Martoonis,') to the sublime ('Obrigado, Corcovado.')
